It always cracks me up how much my toddlers want to help around the house, but by the time they are able to be significantly helpful cleaning up, they want nothing to do with chores. One way of navigating this and getting into helpful and happy routines early on, is to make chore time as fun as possible for our little kids.

Our little preschooler gets so much confidence over doing tasks that the big kids usually do. His first couple times emptying the dishwasher, he was triumphant! The excitement eventually wore off, so we introduced this cute elephant chore chart to keep up the great momentum.

1. Grab free elephant printable in our Helping of Happiness FREEBIE Resource Library

2. Cut out peanuts and write the child's jobs on the peanuts

3. Cut the mouth of the elephant (and around the trunk)

4. Tape a plastic bag on the back to catch the peanuts

5. Have your child do their chores and feed their elephant!
