Allowance Chore Chart

I was so inspired after having Jonathan and Meredith Rotz on our podcast, from Financial- TMI. (Listen to that here- they have so much great information.) They had amazing insights on how to teach our children about money. One of them was teaching our children where money comes from, so in most cases these days, that means providing some kind of allowance.

I got super burned out of the whole allowance thing. It was exhausting always having to have exact cash/change on hand so they could be paid the right amount, paying them in a way that they could put something in savings and in charitable donations. Plus they were all clamoring me at the same time when it was payday. But I got this great idea from Meredith- she pays her big kids electronically- WHAAAAT?!! She even has the kids pay their tithing and charitable donations electronically. It’s GENIUS! So I am now motivated to get back on the allowance band wagon. If I only have to provide cash for the little ones, I can handle that.

Since I am now on board with allowance, I decided it was time to make up some new chore charts. I wanted it clear to my children that some jobs could be paid and others- like brushing their teeth or reading their scriptures- definitely were self care jobs and they don’t get money for those.

I thought since I’m making them for my family, I’d make some blank ones for you to print off. I hope they are useful. We just started today. I’m excited to kick this into gear!
