This week I had an experience where I just wanted to squeeze all my babies tight. .
Our air conditioning went out for the second time in 10 days. And while it is definitely fall in many parts of the country, it is still very hot and humid in Texas. When we repaired it the first time, we knew it probably wouldn’t hold up much longer, but we’re prayerful it would hang on until fall and we could replace it in the spring. .
When it only lasted 10 days (after spending $500- ouch!!), I was feeling pretty frustrated. .
We had an entire new system put in today, and the AC guy pulled us aside when he was finished. He asked us how long ago we had a new roof put on, we told him just a few months (yes- it’s been an expensive year!!). He said the roofers never sealed the HVAC vent properly when they finished. .
So if we would’ve turned on our furnace, it would’ve been pumping carbon monoxide all through our house. .
That is a horrifying thought!! I am now very grateful the AC went out, so we could get that put back properly. We avoided a huge family tragedy. I am so grateful the Lord didn’t answer my prayer the way I wanted him to. .
Every penny is now worth the pain and horror we avoided. I feel blessed by a tender mercy I didn’t see originally.
