Triple Chocolate Covered Strawberries
Chocolate covered strawberries are a family favorite. The tangy flavor of the berries with the sweet, smooth chocolate make for a delightful and beautiful treat. We love to have these for Valentine’s day.

Triple Chocolate Covered Strawberries
Ingredients:
32 oz fresh strawberries
8 oz milk chocolate chips or chocolate bars
8 oz dark chocolate chips or chocolate bars
8 oz white chocolate chips or bark
4 tsp crisco shortening
red or pink food coloring (optional)
Directions:
Put chocolates in separate microwave safe bowls. Put in microwave (one bowl at a time) for 1 minute, then stir. Add shortening (to milk and dark chocolate- NOT white chocolate). Heat up for another 20 seconds, stir. Continue heating and stirring in 20 second intervals until your chocolate is nice and smooth. You can also do this in a double boiler on the stove.
Get out a cookie sheet or plate and line it with parchment paper. Dip the strawberries in the milk chocolate and set it to dry on the cookie sheet. Once the berries are all dipped, drizzle the different chocolates over the top.
When we got to the white chocolate, we drizzled half of it, then added food coloring so we could have white and pink colors on the strawberries.
Chill in the refrigerator until chocolate is set.
If you’re washing your strawberries right before you dip them, make sure you use a paper towel and dry them completely. Otherwise the moisture will get stuck under the chocolate and make the strawberries mushy.
