Fancy Caramel Apple Cider with Whipped Cream
There is nothing like a delicious warm drink on a cold day! We are having a snow day (really it’s just mostly ice) here in North Texas today. This drink is so great to have hanging out on low in the crockpot all day for the kids who are running out to play, coming back in to warm up, and repeating that over and over. Your house will smell amazing!!
This wonderful hot drink is a favorite to serve on Halloween when we are done trick or treating. It’s also lovely to have when you have a cold or a sore throat. It’s soothing and comforting. Throw some in a to-go cup and drop some off to a friend who isn’t feeling well, or maybe that awesome friend who is running carpool for you on a freezing day.

This recipe was inspired by a recipe in one of my favorite cookbooks that is no longer in print, Keeping Up Cookbook, by Amy HenriksenFoulger & Grace Ivory Rock.
Amy brought me her version of this apple cider recipe one day when I was sick on a cold day, and it was so comforting! I’ve always loved her for that! More about Amy and her wonderfulness- check out this podcast we did together: Baby Steps towards Waste Reduction in our Homes with Amy Foulger (Episode #27). She is an inspiration in so many ways!
